To put it simply, when you join Implicity, youβll contribute to save lives with us ππ©Ί
Dr Arnaud Rosier (cardiologist and AI researcher) & David Perlmutter (engineer and entrepreneur), co-founded Implicity in 2016.
10+ years later, a French Start-Up / Scale-Up π is a real game changer in the healthcare market, literally shaping the future of cardiology.
250+ hospitals / medical centers are already using our solutions, covering 100 000+ patients.
π©π»π¨πΏπ±π» At Implicity, you will find the greatest experts in data science, engineering, clinical, regulatory, IT, sales, customers success, etc. working together.
This amazing team already managed to make Implicity a clear European leader, and we will very soon do the same in the US market.

Job and recruitment context
βοΈ Opening line βοΈ
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Data Platform - Ingestion squad, with solid TypeScript skills.
This is a backend engineering role serving a data domain. You will build the services, connectors and orchestration that bring cardiac device data into our platform.
These services sit on a clinically critical path: the reliability of what you build has a direct impact on patient monitoring, and everything runs in a regulated HealthTech environment (HDS hosting, medical-device traceability).
π€ Reporting Structure
Direct Report: Julien Sarazin (Deputy CTO)
Collaboration: Data Ingestion Squad
π§ Your missions
Develop and maintain the backend services of our ingestion platform (TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js)
Build and evolve the connectors that integrate data from implanted and ambulatory cardiac devices - pacemakers, defibrillators, monitors - into the platform
Orchestrate processing with Temporal, and handle service-to-service communication (RabbitMQ)
Design and expose the APIs consumed by the rest of the platform
Optimise access to our PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MongoDB databases
Own reliability in production: Grafana, GitLab CI, deployment on Kubernetes and AWS
π§ Our Technical Environment
Our stack is currently evolving. We do not expect expertise on every tool.
Cloud & containers: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
Languages: TypeScript (primary), Python
Backend: NestJS, Node.js β Architecture: microservices, event-driven
Ingestion & orchestration: Transitioning to Temporal
Databases: PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, BigQuery
CI/CD: GitLab CI β Testing: Jest, Xray
Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog
Collaboration: JIRA, Notion
π₯ Your profile
Must have:
3+ years of experience in backend development, including taking services to production and operating them over time: deployment, monitoring, alerting, incident management
Strong backend engineering skills in at least one of: Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, Go or Scala. The squad works primarily in TypeScript and Python.
Experience designing APIs and integrating data from external sources
Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, and an interest in query optimisation
Fluency in both English (essential for team collaboration) and French (for local interaction) is required
Curiosity and AI usage: We actively embrace working with AI productivity tools such as Claude to solve problems, sharpen code quality, and maximize efficiency. Fully leveraging AI in our daily work is not just encouraged β it's an essential strength we cultivate.
Nice to have:
Docker and Kubernetes
Workflow orchestration or message brokers (Temporal, Dagster, Kafka)
Experience in a regulated environment (health data, finance, public sector), or the habit of designing services with traceability and audit trails β knowing what was processed, when, and by which version of the service
Knowledge of Avro, Parquet or Protobuf
Already practiced TDD
Open source project development experience
A note on applying: we know the perfect candidate doesn't exist. If you believe you possess the core required experience and strongly align with this mindset, we highly encourage you to apply.
π€ Recruitment process
π First contact with Astrid (Talent Acquisition) β 30-45 min - Remote
π§ Fit & vision interview with Louay (CTO) β 45 min - Remote
π» Technical interview with members of the squad β 1h30-2h - On-site
